MS threaded and forged fittings supplied from stock in Dubai
We hold forged carbon steel fittings in ASTM A105 to ASME B16.11, in both threaded and socket weld patterns, from 1/8” through 4” and in Class 3000, 6000 and 9000.
This is the small-bore end of the pipework — instrument tappings, drain and vent lines, utility runs, pump and gauge connections. Forged fittings are thick-walled and machined from solid, which is why they carry pressure ratings far above the pipe they connect and why they are specified on lines that matter.
Threaded or socket weld
Threaded fittings go together with a wrench and can be taken apart again, which is what you want on instrument lines, sample points and anywhere maintenance needs access. Threads are cut NPT to ASME B1.20.1 as standard.
Socket weld fittings take the pipe into a machined recess and are then fillet welded. The joint is permanent, stronger, and immune to the slow loosening that vibration inflicts on threaded connections. Where a leak would be serious, socket weld is the answer.
Classes explained
Class 3000, 6000 and 9000 are wall thickness designations rather than pressures in psi. Class 3000 covers most general service. Class 6000 and 9000 are specified for higher pressure duty and for critical socket weld applications. All three are held across the common sizes.
Patterns we hold
90° and 45° elbows, equal and reducing tees, full and half couplings, reducing couplings, unions, caps, hex plugs, hex bushings and swage nipples. Matching barrel nipples are held in the same grades so a small-bore make-up can be quoted complete.

MS Threaded & Forged Fittings — frequently asked
- What does Class 3000 mean on a forged fitting?
- It is a pressure class rating, not a pressure in psi. Class 3000, 6000 and 9000 denote increasing wall thickness and pressure capability for the same nominal bore. Class 3000 covers most general service; 6000 and 9000 are specified for higher pressure and for socket weld on critical lines.
- Should I use threaded or socket weld?
- Threaded is faster to install and can be dismantled, which suits instrument lines, utilities and anywhere access matters. Socket weld is permanent and stronger, and is specified where a leak would be serious or where vibration would work a threaded joint loose over time.
- Are the threads NPT or BSP?
- Our forged A105 range is threaded NPT to ASME B1.20.1 as standard, which is what most oil, gas and process work in the UAE specifies. BSP threaded fittings are held in the galvanised and malleable range — tell us which thread form the existing pipework uses.
- Do you stock reducing fittings in the forged range?
- Yes. Reducing couplings, reducing tees, hex bushings and swage nipples are held across the common size steps. Give us both sizes — the run and the branch, or the male and female ends — and we will pick the right one.
- What is the largest forged threaded fitting you hold?
- The forged range runs to 4". Above that, buttweld or flanged connections are the correct engineering answer rather than a large threaded joint, and we would point you to our buttweld fittings range instead.
