Structural steel supplied from stock in Dubai
We hold structural steel sections and plate in S275 JR and S355 JR to EN 10025 — universal beams and columns, PFC and UPN channels, equal and unequal angle, flat bar, MS plate, chequered plate and hollow sections to EN 10219.
Structural steel is bought by the tonne and cut by the millimetre. What matters at the counter is whether the section is genuinely on the floor, whether it can be cut to a list before it goes on the truck, and whether the certification will satisfy the inspector.
Grades
S275 JR is the general structural grade and covers most fabrication, support steelwork and general engineering. S355 JR has a higher yield, which lets a shallower or lighter section carry the same load — specified where headroom, span or weight is constrained. ASTM A36 is stocked in plate for American-specified work.
The grade is the structural engineer’s decision, not a substitution to be made at the merchant. If a drawing says S355, S275 is not a saving.
Sections we hold
Universal beams from 127mm to 610mm and universal columns from 152mm to 356mm. PFC and UPN channels from 76mm to 300mm. Equal angle from 20mm to 200mm and unequal angle from 30mm to 200mm. Flat bar, MS plate from 2mm to 40mm, chequered plate for walkways and platforms, and square and rectangular hollow sections from 20mm to 300mm.
Cut to size
Sections are cut to your list and plate is cut from stock sheet. On a fabrication job that removes both the offcut waste and the yard handling, and it means the steel that arrives is the steel on the drawing.
Galvanising
Sections can be sent for hot-dip galvanising for exposed and coastal installations. Allow the extra cycle time, and remember the coating adds thickness — bolt holes and mating faces need to account for it.
Who buys structural steel from us
Steel fabrication workshops. MEP contractors building support steelwork and plinths. Marine and shipyard repair teams. Civil contractors on temporary works and access platforms.
What to specify when requesting a quote
Section type and designation, grade, length or cut list, plate thickness and sheet size, quantity, whether you need galvanising, and whether mill certificates are required.
Common Questions
Structural Steel — frequently asked
- What is the difference between S275 and S355 steel?
- The number is the minimum yield strength in N/mm². S355 is stronger, which allows a lighter section to carry the same load and is specified where weight or depth is constrained. S275 is the general structural grade and costs less. Follow the structural engineer’s specification.
- Do you cut sections and plate to size?
- Yes. Beams, channels, angles and flats are cut to your list, and plate is cut to size from stock sheet. Send the cut list with the quantities and we will confirm sizes, tolerance and lead time with the quote.
- Can you supply galvanised structural sections?
- Sections can be sent for hot-dip galvanising where the installation is exposed or coastal. Allow additional lead time for the galvanising cycle and confirm the finished dimensions, since the coating adds thickness to bolt holes and mating faces.
- Do you hold chequered plate?
- Yes, in the common thicknesses for walkways, platforms and access covers. Give us the sheet size and thickness and the quantity, and say if you need it cut to a shape rather than supplied as full sheet.
- Are mill certificates available on structural steel?
- Yes, on most batches. Structural work is frequently inspected, so tell us at enquiry stage if certification is required and we will confirm what the material carries before you order.
